Situated as you are on the edge of a vast wilderness, you are in a place that is much more wild than it is settled. 

 

Hopefully, at Hemlock Bluff you are very comfortable, but you are not on home turf in any sense of the phrase.  And the further you wander beyond the boundaries of this lot and the developed National Park Service areas nearby, the more you are truly in the wild.
