Hiking
and horse trails
There's a great hiking
and horse trail about two hundred yards down the gravel drive from our cabin front door. This
trail provides quick and easy access to all the National Park hiking and horse trails of the vast Big South Fork wilderness.
We built this cabin for ourselves and people like
us -- busy city folk, nature lovers, cooks, entertainers and readers.
You should
rent this cabin if you want to relax and enjoy luxury amenities in a pristine wilderness setting for a long weekend,
week-long vacation or extended stay. Our cabin is pet-friendly, too.
Do nothing or do a lot
At Hemlock Bluff Cabin, you can do absolutely
nothing but eat, rest, read and watch satellite TV in great comfort. Or you can do a lot outside, like hiking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, backpacking,
swimming, rock climbing, mountain bike riding, road bike riding, birdwatching, wildflower viewing, wildlife viewing, spelunking,
stargazing, golfing, touring area historic sites and attending educational sessions and entertainment performances
at the nearby Big South Fork Park Visitor's Center and Pickett State Park Nature Center. Inside, you can play foosball,
ping pong, board games and poker. See some of our family's favorite activities.
Remote yet easy to get to
As remote as it feels,
and really is, our cabin is just 2.5 hours by car from Nashville, 1.5 hours from Knoxville, 2.5 hours from Chattanooga,
3 hours from Lexington, 3.5 hours from Louisville and Ashville, and 4.5 hours from Cincinnatti, Atlanta, Birmingham
and Evansville. From Memphis, it's 5.5 hours but closer and much less crowded than the Smokies.
